Loyle Carner Lays Himself Bare On Moving "Nobody Knows (Ladas Road)"

Following 2019's album Not Waving, But Drowning, South Londoner Loyle Carner is preparing to release another collection of nu-jazz and hip-hop-leaning tracks for his third album hugo. Ahead of the album's release on Octobr 21, he gives a teaser of his searing lyricism on the emotionally charged "Nobody Knows (Ladas Road)".

Over a grand gospel sample and crashing drum fills, he unburdens his mind from conflicting thoughts on cultural identity and the complexities of fatherhood. As expected, Loyle's articulation is clear as his stream of thoughts flows over the production from kwes. and Nick Mills.

Director duo George Muncey and Elliott Elder direct the black-and-white visuals where Loyle spits with his hair half-braided and a baby strapped to his chest. Effortlessly shining bright during this performance, it's an exciting indication of what's to come on the album.
