Lowkey's "Islamophobic Lullaby" Is A Chilling Wake-Up Call For Those Still In Denial

April 03, 2019

The ever-growing surge in Islamophobia across the western hemisphere is a horrifying trend that sadly seems to show no signs of slowing down. Bizarrely, there are those who are still in denial about the gravity of the situation.

In his latest single, "Islamophobic Lullaby" (produced by Scotzilla), Lowkey brings his A-game to dissect what must be a deeply personal subject for him. His lyrics take a two-pronged approach; in one turn he analyses the reasons behind this growing anti-Muslim sentiment (and the hypocrisy of these reasons), while in the other he lists some of the countless reasons to celebrate Islam, the Middle East and the myriad cultures and communities that comprise it.

The video keeps things simple and powerful with a striking image of Lowkey and a young child being bombarded with horrifying images of Muslim's being caricatured, misrepresented and attacked in news pieces, movies, TV shows and video games.

"Islamophobic Lullaby" arrives in advance of the release of Soundtrack To The Struggle 2, which drops this Friday (April 5).
