Drill Meets Dancehall As Loski And Popcaan Come Together For "Avengers"

October 21, 2020

The dust has barely settled after his Jorja Smith collab "Come Over", yet dancehall legend Popcaan is already back with his second UK link-up of the month, this time teaming up with Harlem Spartan Loski for "Avengers".

Making a change from his usual drill sound, Loski slides into Mojam and Eddie Seranfica's head-bopping instrumental with smooth flows and a catchy, harmonised hook to give the tune a warm vibe which may surprise some. Meanwhile, Popcaan's patois-drizzled flows add a strong dancehall feel, playing up the Caribbean rhythms and adding even more colour to the mix.

For the visuals, Suave follows Loski round a gritty industrial setting before taking us to the island of Jamaica whose influence is so tightly woven into the fabric of British music. Full of fast-paced shots and transitions, this is exactly the sort of energy "Avengers" deserves.
