Lord Apex Stays True To Himself And Doesn't Follow "The Fads" In NYC-Set Visuals

June 27, 2019

Lord Apex's last solo album, Interplanetary Funk, dropped in 2017, but with his next one, The Elevated And Elusive LP, said to be coming soon, he's dropped a new single from the project titled "The Fads" alongside a video set in New York City.

The track talks about the importance of being original and not following trends as he keeps up his laid-back style over a boom bap-styled instrumental, making it even more fitting that the visuals are shot in the city from which the sound was born. The video sees shots of the rapper on the subway, in Times Square, in a sneaker store and even in a corner shop, as he takes in the culture while delivering his punchline-filled rhymes.
