West London Rapper Lord Apex Serves Up Visuals For Lo-Fi Sizzler "Life Goes On"

November 04, 2020

Exactly two months on from his Supply & Demand project, Lord Apex is back to explore existence with "Life Goes On", an ode to the likes of Wu-Tang Clan and J Dilla.

Rapping in a laid-back flow, Apex delivers hard-hitting bars and wordplay in a languid and world-weary style. The hazy, nonchalant hook loops in disorientating fashion, representing the absurdity of time itself. NYC-based V Don (who produced the entirety of Supply & Demand) returns to the buttons to provide a mellow, jazz-infused beat with numbing saxophone chords to give "Life Goes On" an absorbing, introspective vibe.

ABOVEGROUND's visuals are shot on 8mm film, fizzing with saturated tones that decorate the differing aspects of London. Ranging from the River Thames to Grenfell Tower, here we have the many facades of inner-city London life that Lord Apex navigates.
