West London gem Lord Apex continues to plant his space-hopping sounds across the borders. This time round he lands in Brazil with a few sweet words on his latest collaborative project Joga Bonito, calling on local producer El Lif Beatz for the beats.

Armed with just a mic and his notepad, Apex opens with the project's "Mission Statement", setting us up with front-row seats to the slow-moving journey through his mind. Joga Bonito is the perfect playground to showcase his evolving sonic palette, presenting new iterations of his mellow hip-hop and jazzy lo-fi aesthetic. A couple of highlights include a crash course on metaphysics in "Words From Paulo" and the flute-based trap finisher "Joga Bonito".

He invites a few Brazilian rappers, Akira Presidente, Sain and Febem, on "La Cidade", "So Far" and "Money To Get" respectively. Speaking on the collaborations, Apex says: "Appreciate the opportunity to collab with El Lif on this project and thank you to all the legendary guest features! London to Brazil! This one is a slower burner and this album is so much bigger than me. It'll make sense soon. In the meantime, go run that and tell me your fav tracks."

At the top of the year he touched base with Spanish producer Cookin Soul for his Off The Strength tape, now he journeys deeper into his pursuit of self-knowledge on his latest collection of tracks. Take in Joga Bonito below.
