Little Simz Continues Journey To New Album With Vulnerable "I Love You, I Hate You"

July 12, 2021

With her exciting new record Sometimes I Might Be Introvert arriving on September 3, Little Simz continues her breadcrumb trail of releases with new single "I Love You, I Hate You". In this deeply personal offering she dissects her relationship with her absent father over a blistering bass line with a punchy chorus of I hate you, I love you at its centre.

Backed by a production from Inflo, the rapper showcases her dynamic, energy-driven flow as she lays her emotions bare, concluding with some sage advice on the final line, every mistake you make should contribute to your growth.

The artist, Jeremy Ngatho Cole provides the artwork for the accompanying video, which features his art from start to finish. With recent releases like the fiery "Rollin Stone", the Cleo Sol-assisted "Woman", and the orchestral swells of "Introvert" still warming our ears, Little Simz's upcoming record is bound to be a raw and emotional journey filled with elaborate, genre-bending production.

As we draw nearer to the release date, tune into "I Love You, I hate You" below.

Updated on October 25: the official video has now landed.
