South London's Ling Hussle Nods To 2000s R&B With "Stars In The Roof"

British R&B continues to reshape itself, with rap now making more of an impact in the genre than ever. The latest example comes from Ling Hussle's new single "Stars In The Roof", which offers a soulful blend of the two sounds as she looks deep within herself to get a few things off her chest.

Stunning vocals are intertwined with engaging rap flows that blur any distinction between the two. On the buttons is Yves Schwarz, producing a gentle acoustic-led instrumental that amplifies Ling Hussle's vulnerable energy. Alongside "Stars In The Roof"'s melodic essence are appropriate visuals, showing Ling Hussle reaping the rewards of her success, dressed in all white in an ode to early 2000s R&B.

Ling Hussle is coming off the back of 23-track album Spirit Soul in 2020, and she looks set to continue in the same vein in 2021.
