Lianne La Havas Delivers Smoky, Groove-Filled Cover Of Radiohead's "Weird Fishes"

June 25, 2020

Earlier this year, Lianne La Havas announced that this summer would bring her self-titled fourth album. Since then we've been blessed with three singles from the project — "Bittersweet", "Paper Thin" and "Can't Fight" — and now we have the fourth, a stunning cover of Radiohead deep cut "Weird Fishes".

The new album marks a return to music for La Havas following a five-year hiatus and it's fair to say she's hit the ground running. Besides the flurry of new singles, she also delivered a downright stunning version of "Bittersweet" for COLORS Berlin.

The Radiohead cover is another unexpected treat, taking the 2007 In Rainbows extract and swapping Thom Yorke's haunting eeriness with a smouldering, passionate touch with hints of the jazz and soul flourishes that make her music so affecting.

The self-titled new album drops July 17, but before that she'll also be broadcasting a live show, streamed worldwide on July 15 at 8pm BST.
