Self-Proclaimed "Godfather Of Drill" LD Asks 'Who's Watching' On New Project

March 01, 2021

Since LD and 67 introduced a British version of drill to our shores, the sound has evolved a lot in the time passed, adopting melodic tinges and elements from other genres. It's also given the likes of Headie One, Loski and Digga D platforms for expression, but now the focus returns to the artist formerly known as Scribz as he presents his new project Who's Watching.

Who's Watching blends drill and auto-tuned rap with the added element of LD's explosive cadence in his flow. In keeping with the high quality, LD calls upon a tight-knit group of guests including K-Trap, Ruelo, S Loud and AJ, as well as high grade producers including MKThePlug, M1OnTheBeat, NasGotTracks, Flyo, Mazza, Carns Hill, and finally DaBeatFreakz, who provide a solemn conclusion to Who's Watching in "This Side".

In a recent interview with VICE, when questioned on the Godfather title, LD responded saying: "Yeaaaaah, I know what I've done and what I've put in for the whole drill scene. I call myself the Godfather: in the same way Wiley calls himself the Godfather of Grime, that's what I do for drill." Acknowledging his newfound title, LD seeks to remind us all that he and his peers are still very much part of what he started with new project Who's Watching.
