Lava La Rue Prepares For A Headline Show And EP With First Single Of The Year "Burn"

April 11, 2019

It's been a while since we heard any solo music from Lava La Rue, with the Nine8 Collective dropping consistently as a group. But now she's back with her new single "Burn", the first from her upcoming sophomore EP. With a headline show in the pipeline, we can bet we won't have too long to wait before we hear more music from the West London starlet.

Speaking about the track, she said: "The lyrics to 'Burn' was originally an extended poem, an anthem, written for my friends, and my community about resilience. I don't believe that the days of rockstar legends like Prince/Grace Jones who made bangers you'd dance to whilst being politically rebellious as POC is something of the past... I believe that all forms chanting a hook, a catchy chorus, is repeating spells and speaking things into existence."
