Lady Ice Stands Tall On Heavy-Hitting "No Silence"

July 01, 2020

Late last year (and again at the top of the year), we tipped Manchester MC Lady Ice for greatness and it looks like we were bang on the money. Ever since her appearance on Krept & Konan's The Rap Game UK, she's gone from strength to strength.

Her new single, "No Silence", could well be her most potent to date. A whipcrack affair at just 1:40, it's quick but devastating. Without wasting a single word, Ice gives us a no-holds-barred look at what it's really like to be a black woman in Britain, detailing shocking but sadly all too common instances of racism that go right back to her early childhood.

The new track also comes with some suitably powerful visuals courtesy of Blue Boredom that cast Ice as a fearless protestor. Megaphone in hand, she ends her silence and casts aside the judgement of everyone who's ever tried to hold her back and put her down.
