kwn lets us kow it's ok not to be ok on her latest single, "lord i've tried (wn take)".

The North London singer dives into her spiritual bag on this one, detailing some of life's continued struggles but ultimately letting hope for a brighter day and easier times lead.

That feeling of hope resonates from kwn's lyrics, which sit on top of production made of a bright piano section and stacked choir harmonies. The aesthetic is quite far removed from kwn's usual autotuned style, proving to us that behind the tech and effects there is a gifted vocalist.

Speaking on the track, kwn shares: "I've had a difficult past few years mentally and emotionally, and wanted to encapsulate that feeling for others that might need some healing too. Writing it with one of my best friends Sasha Keable made the process a whole lot easier. It's raw, vulnerable, and has 0 autotune which was the biggest step for me. Not saying I won't ever use it again because that's just my style, but this just needed to be as raw as possible, and to let people know that behind the autotune is a VOCALIST. Oh, and I should say the 'choir' is just me and Sasha. Take that in.

"But I really do hope this song gives people some validation—it's okay to not be okay, it's okay to be struggling, we'll get past it wn way or another."

Clearly a big step in the evolution of kwn, "lord i've tried (wn take)" sees the artist pushing in new directions and seeking growth professionally and personally. Take in the video below.
