Kwaku Asante Ruminates On Lost Love In Melancholic "Rhodes" Visuals

August 15, 2022

Following a brief hiatus since releasing the funk-laced Blue Solstice: Volume 1, North West London singer-songwriter Kwaku Asante returns on a more sombre note with "Rhodes".

Producer Daniel Hylton Nuamah creates an uncluttered backdrop with guitars, piano and bass, each playing lullaby-like melodies. Kwaku painfully laments on a lost love, realising that perhaps he could have shown more appreciation for what he once shared with this person. It's a smooth pairing between his vocals and the production, creating a nostalgic, jazz-infused sound.

Co-directed by Dean Dumare and Kwaku himself, we pose as a fly on the wall as he and his muse spend the entire day wrapped up in their romance. Press play on "Rhodes" below.
