Kofi Stone Celebrates Blackness In "Black Joy" Video

April 08, 2024

Kofi Stone's new drop "Black Joy" does exactly what it says on the tin. A celebratory track exploring the many sources of joy that reside within Blackness, as well as acknowledging the sources of pain. In contrast, producer Joice chops a soulful vocal and places it on top of triumphant horns, giving Kofi the perfect foundation to dive into what it means to be Black.

We've also been gifted with the visual for "Black Joy", directed by the trio of Kofi, Ade Adesina and Sena Dzotsi. The video is a real family affair, full of smiles and great vibes.

It's been almost five years since Kofi's last album, Nobody Cares Until Everybody Does, and his recent drops suggest a follow-up could be imminent. Until then, we'll be waiting impatiently to hear more from one of Brum Town's most important voices.
