Knucks Shares "Cut Knuckles" Video Ahead Of New Album 'A Fine African Man'
Knucks has been somewhat conspicuous by his absence this year, but now he's back with the video for his new single, "Cut Knuckles", a laid-back, jazzy number that signals big things on the horizon.
Alongside the release, Knucks has also announced his next album, A Fine African Man. The new LP will reportedly dig deep into his experiences as a first-generation immigrant living between Lagos and London.
For the video, Knucks worked closely with Director K and LKY as co-directors. Shot in Lagos, the video brings to life a lot of the themes that will feature throughout the new album, balancing the grit and slickness that have become the West Londoner's trademark.
Speaking on the new track and the album as a whole, Knucks shares: "'Cut Knuckles' is the song that inspired the overall theme of the album. It's mostly about reflection, specifically about how I used to cut my hands washing my school clothes in Nigeria. It's also acknowledging how far I've come and how, now I have my own place with a washing machine, the cuts and pains I would get are a thing of the past."
Ahead of the album's release later this year, hit play on the new video below.
