Kida Kudz Salutes 2Pac With Visuals For Fresh Heater "Makaveli"

The end of lockdown might have been postponed, but that doesn't mean we should get disheartened. The sun's out, the Euros are in full swing, and Kida Kudz has just dropped a brand new tune to celebrate what would have been 2Pac's 50th birthday.

The track itself has an air of Pac's West Coast cool, but that takes a backseat to Kidz's smooth and melodic blend of rap and Afrobeats. The visuals, however, make much clearer references to 2Pac and his life story. Directed by Visionnaire Pictures, the visual recreates pivotal moments like the video for "Hit Em Up", the Poetic Justice film he starred in alongside Janet Jackson, and the iconic photo shoot with Suge Knight and Snoop Dogg.

Speaking on the video's creation, he explains: "I recorded 'Makaveli' in the UK, at my house. I didn't even have an idea it was going towards the Makaveli side of things but I guess that's what my mind was telling me to do. 'All my jiggas anti-social' — I was speaking about how me and my people move in life basically. It's just literally a Tupac attitude, of the Thug Life movement he had going on. It's just me in that Tupac spirit, and me being myself — being jiggy!"

"Makaveli" is the third single to be taken from Kida Kudz's upcoming mixtape, Top Memba, which is due July 9.
