KG Fuses Amapiano With Afro-House On New Dancefloor Scorcher "Taboo"

September 02, 2022

It's been a packed year for Karen Nyame KG who seems to have had wall-to-wall bookings pretty much since she dropped Sensei II back in June last year. Now she's back with her first bit of new music since then and it's a steamy, late-summer scorcher.

Fusing together a bunch of different influences and styles, it's sensual, defiant and empowering. Musically, the new track continues the thread of Amapiano and Afro-influenced club music that made her last EP such a runaway success, centering on a hot and heavy rhythmic bounce built for only the sturdiest sound systems.

In KG's own words: "'Taboo' is a sensuous, Afro groove-inspired, mystical take on forbidden love, I veer towards it anyways despite opposition. This is me being me. A celebration of existing loudly."

Not only is it KG's birthday today, it's also Bandcamp day, so stream below or buy it via her page.
