KEYAH/BLU Isn't Afraid To Take Her Ambitious Vision To The Next Level With Joy Orbison-Assisted "If You Know"

The multi-faceted KEYAH/BLU has dropped her new single "If You Know", which is slated to feature on her forthcoming debut EP, Sorry, I Forgot You Were Coming (due March 16), and features additional production from Joy Orbison.

Using her soft tone to float over the pulsating, self-produced instrumental, she simultaneously maintains her raw and uncut edge to find a balance between dark and light-sounding melodies. Layering her harmonising melodies under hard-hitting bars, KEYAH/BLU tells stories of her everyday encounters and struggles in a DIY approach that any musician can appreciate.

Speaking on the new single, she comments: "'If You Know' is dealing with your shit in a dark room and saying, 'This is me and I'm okay with that.' I wanted to play around with textures that felt new to me. It's not easy being vocal about doing certain things you, yourself, are super comfortable with in a world that wants you to think you're wrong or undesirable for doing so. I wanted the lyrics to reflect that. If you know, you know."
