Karen Nyame KG Rings In The Summer Of UK Funky With "In My Room" & "Allure"

April 24, 2026

Summer is just about here and, according to Karen Nyame KG, it's the summer of funky. She just dropped her new double single, "In My Room" / "Allure", and they definitely make a convincing case.

The new tracks mark a new era for KG, one she calls her "dominion" era, a period defined by taking charge of her destiny and not waiting on the approval of others. They're also the first two tracks to be heard from her forthcoming EP, Epiphany, which is slated to land on May 29 via Black Acre.

For "In My Room", KG looked to funky classics like Fish Go Deep's "The Cure And The Cause" and "We Belong To The Night" by Suges as reference points. "[It's] designed to really impact the dancefloor," she says. "Think of it as an ode to that gritty, future-facing UK funky sound, which appears to be resurging, paying homage to my roots as a music producer and what I was initially recognised for."

"Allure", on the other hand, is a bit more minimal, pivoting on a few key elements for maximum impact. "I wanted each production element and my vocals to stand out without distraction," she adds. "It's a mood, it's an energy; the hook is a hypnotic invite, and I can't wait to see the impact it will have on the dancefloor once released."
