Wrapping up what has been a year of reflection for the East Londoner, Kano has uncovered an intimate short film, A Blessed Place, coinciding with the release of his white rum, Duppy Rum.

Directed by Aneil Karia, the documentary unravels at the centre of the vibrant Kingston and Browns Town; overflowing with life, culture and music, Kano explores the presence of his roots in this project as well as Jamaica's influence on the wider world of arts and music.

We follow as he reconnects with family and some sentimental places around the area; while reflecting on those memories he also briefly touches on the country's deep-rooted connection to nature.

Speaking on the film, Karia shares: "Collaborating with Kano is always a pleasure. Whenever we work together on a film—whether it's fact or fiction—the M.O is always to capture the 'reality' as deeply as possible. With this piece, we wanted the viewer to be able to actually breathe in the Jamaica that Kano knows and loves. To make something intimate, personal…sensory".
