Kano's 'Hoodies All Summer' Is Here—And It's Essential Listening

August 30, 2019

Following the release of "Class Of Deja" (an instant grime classic), "Trouble", and "Pan-Fried", the day we've all been waiting for has finally arrived: Kano's sixth studio album Hoodies All Summer has officially dropped, featuring Kojo Funds, Popcaan, Lil Silva, D Double E and Ghetts.

Clocking in at just 10 tracks, Hoodies is a comparatively brief but all the more welcome return from the East London emcee. As Kano has commented in the past, the new album is a bit of a contrast against 2016 LP Made In The Manor, covering the broader strokes of dancehall and hip-hop — via production from Jodi Milliner and Blue May — and moving away from the personal themes of its predecessor to tackle subjects that affect communities like fear, isolation and frustration.
