Grime Meets Salsa On Kamakaze's Dancefloor-Ready "Show Me"

August 10, 2022

The past two years have been a busy one for Leicester's Kamakaze: he's delivered an impressive run of releases, including part two of his Wavey Shirt Wednesday tape and a number of high-quality singles. His latest cut "Show Me" is a Latin-style bop primed for humid dancefloors.

Hamdi is the mastermind behind the beat who splices a high-tempo salsa sample with grime elements, creating a fresh sound for Kamakaze to experiment with. As the sample swells and its hip-swaying percussion sets in, Kamakaze arrives with his direct bars, daring us to show him our best dance moves. From the adventurous production to his self-assured bars, the Leicester rhymer oozes with confidence, reminding us, "I don't need anyone to compliment me".

The vibes are high in the James Driscoll-directed visuals where a buzzing group of dancers go head to head with their moves; press play below.
