Kamaal Williams Announces New Album 'The Return' With Cool And Breezy "Salaam"

March 21, 2018

Kamaal Williams, who also releases music as Henry Wu and as one half of Yussef Kamaal, is back producing music under his own name, and there's even promise of a new album. Aptly named The Return, the new album will drop May 25 and the first single, "Salaam", has now been unveiled.

Airy, breezy and filled with jazzy flourishes and surprising twists and turns, "Salaam" feels like a new chapter in Williams' career. It may be released under his own name, but this project has seen him link up with a new crew of musicians; Pete Martin on bass, MckNasty on drums, and engineer Richard Samuels. Not only that, but the combination of West Coast jazz and beat production with the rawness of UK pirate radio culture has never sounded so well-balanced.

Kick back, hit play below and keep your eyes and ears peeled for the album's drop in May.

Updated on May 15: the video has now been released.
