Kadiata Calls On IYAMAH, Venna, Jords And More On Long-Awaited 'Lost, This Winter' EP

July 12, 2021

Following on from his appearance on the post-lockdown anthem "Enemies" alongside Jords and Masego and then mellow bop "Toxic Toxic", Kadiata returns to showcase his artistic growth on the Lost, This Winter EP.

Featuring a tight selection of guest appearances from IYAMAH, Jords, Venna and Knucks, Lost, This Winter takes us through a wave of sonic worlds and well-rounded storytelling. Central track "Forever" offers a clear example of the synergy between his production and songwriting painting a vivid picture of his world. Elsewhere, tracks like "Mamacita" and "Post Quarantine" sees the artist spark his charisma and light-hearted charm.

Another of the standout tracks is "Deeper One". As hinted in the title, it reveals a more vulnerable side to the rapper, momentarily diverting us from his usual tongue-in-cheek songwriting. After touching on a variety of personal topics, we are ushered out of the track with a velvety synth line and a soothing brass motif from London saxophonist Venna.

Eclectic and varied in tone, Lost, This Winter slips between high energy bangers and deeply personal songwriting for a collection of songs that make the scale of his artistic vision abundantly clear. Get with it below.
