Continuing an astonishing run of releases this year, Joe James returns to put us all to shame with his fifth project of the year, Skullduggery, which follows BRUCE, Pure Connery, Get Money, Go Missing (with AirBorn Gav), and Crawl.

For this one, he's dug deep into his psyche to detail his thoughts on subjects like politics, greed, romance, and self-evolution. On the production, strands of neo-soul and hip-hop collide while James' mellow tone and nonchalant bars hold our attention.

As expected, he drops countless gems of wisdom, and similar to January's BRUCE tape, he invites a small number of guests to match his lyrical expertise. On "Ronaldhino", James is joined by Portuguese rapper Beuno, whose verse lulls to the relaxed bassline and a sea of backing vocals. North West spitter Ashbeck arrives in "Moloko", while Chirovamutanda steps up in "Brick To Bush".
