Joe James is striking while the iron is hot, dropping his new single "G-Lay" only a few days after appearing heavily on KwolleM's new tape, Melo.

The new release is a tour-de-force in rapping, serving up rapid-fire rhymes in his typically ominous delivery. Producer Jens Muller sets Joe the challenge of keeping pace, but Joe is a tempo specialist so it doesn't prove to be a test for him; instead, he has fun with it, making light work of the relentless drum patterns.

Joe James was a looming presence on KwolleM's Melo tape, appearing on six of the eleven tracks, so its a savvy move to drop his own music less than a week later. Other than Melo, he's put out three projects already this year, each six tracks long. Knowing Joe, we'll probably have even more music from him before too long.
