Jme Announced As Advisor For New Streaming Platform Strade Base
Grime icon Jme has been brought on as Advisor for a new streaming platform called Strade Base.
The platform offers artists a new way to share music with fans, known as fractional ownership, allowing them to make money from their music and connect with fans directly.
When artists post music on Strade Base, they can offer a set number of royalty shares for fans to purchase. These royalty shares are represented by a digital, tradable 'card' that can also include rewards like concert access or exclusive merch.
The team behind the platform includes entrepreneur Skepta's business partner, Dwight Okechukwu. Jme was also the first artist to launch on Strade Base, offering up 100 shares of his track "Integrity" at £1 a share to celebrate the track's 10th anniversary.
Earlier this year, Jay Z announced a similar product, Music, although it has yet to hit the market.
