Jim Legxacy is quickly becoming a master at altering classic hits to accommodate his alternative sound. Following the acoustic guitar-led refix of Soul For Real's "Candy Rain" for "Candy Reign (!)", he returns with more of his clear-cut vocals and romantic touch on "dj".

For this one, he samples Unknown T's rap essential "Homerton B", decorated with the airy strums of an acoustic guitar to soften its rough edges. With that backing in place, he soars over the beat delivering beautifully-held notes over the rapid flickers of percussion.

Newham director Fidel steps in to capture the ascendant artist passing through his ends on a breezy evening, the glowy city lights illuminating his path. While his lyrics reflect on the loss of a romantic connection, our protagonist seems nonetheless uplifted as he and his crew gleefully bounce away to the track. Press play below.
