Jelani Blackman has released his debut album, The Heart Of It.

His fans have long-awaited the project, kept on tenterhooks ever since he started the rollout with the single "Izit" featuring Kojey Radical last November. But you only get one chance at a debut album, and the quality of Jelani's attempt proves that he had taken the right approach.

As well as Kojey, The Heart Of It features Bob Vylan, Mavica, and Biig Piig, with production credits from Chris Adnoh, Jacob Manson, Jamie Bell, Tom Stafford, and more.

Known as much for his rumbling baritone as he is for his thoughtful lyrics, the album finds Jelani exploring a range of topics such as his experiences of race growing up in 21st century London, and the highs and lows of being in love. From social commentary to personal anecdotes, The Heart Of It is a well-rounded and unmissable project.
