JD. Reid Prepares Us For New EP With "Ghosts"

March 20, 2024

JD. Reid has dropped his second release in almost three years.

He's followed up last month's "plug" with the equally abstract "ghosts", a three-minute track that traces the connections between club-adjacent energy and moments of introspection and solitude. "ghosts" is heavy on the percussion, working its way to a clattering crescendo before wrapping up with a soothing conclusion.

Speaking on the track, JD. Reid shares: "I love the feeling you get when you hear something for the first time that really resonates with you but it feels brand new. Above all though, the drive behind this EP was that it was important to come back better and in a different space musically from the last time I released music, because as a person, I'm in a different space now too."

Known for his work with acts such as Sudan Archives, Celeste, Katy B, Yazmin Lacey and Jeshi, it will be great to hear the fullness of Reid's vision. The track will feature on Reid's upcoming project, sometimes i wonder, slated for release on March 29.
