Jaykae And Jorja Smith Detail The Tragedies Of Street Life On New Garage Cut "1000 Nights"

Barely six weeks after stealing the show with "Chop (Henry 8th)" and Jaykae has already made good on his promise of new music with "1000 Nights", featuring fellow West Midlander Jorja Smith. Backed by a lilting garage bounce from producer Ezrah, it's a markedly different vibe than his last drop.

Here, Jaykae steps into storytelling mode with a harrowing, but all too common, story of how quickly things can go south when people are forced to make difficult choices just to survive. 'Gritty realism' is an overused phrase, but there's no better way to describe Jaykae's unvarnished tale of lives neglected by the social state.

Speaking on how the track came together, Jaykae explains: "The track was written and recorded with me and Jorja in the studio together, not sending across vocal takes between studios and I think you can hear that — there's a different energy about it. It's got that classic garage sound but the storyline is so relevant to today."

Hit play on Luke Biggins' visuals at the bottom to see their bleak tale brought to life.
