Jammz Rises Above Systemic Oppression In "Rebellious" Video

October 26, 2022

East London rhymer and I Am Grime label owner, Jammz, is feeling empowered on his latest bar-heavy drop titled "Rebellious".

Killjoy and Jack Dat are the brains behind the symphony of spiralling FX and skittering drum patterns, creating an unnerving backdrop for Jammz's war-ready flow. With incredible mic control he breaks down the oppressive elements past and present that have attempted to terrorise the grime scene. He transforms the frustration into an empowering elixir, strong enough to bolster anyone that taps into his frequency.

He does this all while passing through graffiti-splatted streets in the visuals directed by Blackavision and edited by Jammz himself. He uses a mixture of old footage documenting run-ins with the police and black and white shots of him and a fwe friends passing through his ends. The video abruptly ends with the phrase "to be continued", signalling the impending arrival of his Pink Lemonade LP on November 23.

Just recently he connected with Dallas-based producer NIK P on "Ruffneck Dub"—its chopped phrases and high voltage synths allowing us to picture what grime would sound like on a faraway planet—this time around his phrases are loud and clear. Spin "Rebellious" below.
