Inspired By 'Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri', #Justice4Grenfell Campaigners Place Signs Demanding Answers

February 15, 2018

This year, a small American indie film called Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri was released starring Frances McDormand as a mother who puts up billboards near her hometown, demanding justice after her daughter is raped and murdered.

While the film would normally have done the rounds on the indie circuit, picked up a couple of awards and positive reviews, it seems to have struck a particularly powerful chord with the surviving residents of Grenfell Tower and the relatives of those who died in the tragedy.

The #Justice4Grenfell team, inspired by the film, set up three vans to be emblazoned with the words '71 deaths', 'Still no arrests', and 'How come?' in bold, black type. The vans were parked near the site of the fire before being driven to the Houses of Parliament where, we understand, they remain.

The ingenious protest comes following last night's (February 14) silent march that concluded at Kensington and Chelsea Borough Council, where protestors demanded answers about the tragedy which happened in June last year.
