HERITAGE: Witness General Levy Cause A Storm With "Incredible" In Brixton's Brockwell Park (1994)

Nowadays, General Levy's legacy and his role in the rise of jungle is undeniable and widely celebrated. However, back in the mid-1990s he was practically an outcast and many pirate radio DJs even refused to play his music.

The story goes, Levy earned the disdain of the jungle scene by essentially taking credit for the invention of the whole sound. Understandably, the scene was pissed and didn't just roundly reject that claim, they accused him of hopping on the bandwagon to capitalise on the success of others (you can see Shy FX talk more about it here).

Regardless, this 1994 performance of his signature anthem "Incredible", thanks to Twitter rave archivists UKRaveComments, at Brixton's Brockwell Park remains historic. We can surely all agree now that he did leave a mark.
