HERITAGE: The Rap Game's Shogun Flies The Flag For Scottish Grime With This Fierce Freestyle (2016)

Glasgow-hailing Shogun has been working tirelessly to earn his home country the respect it deserves in the grime scene. Known for whipcrack bars and fierce delivery, he's been banging out grime, rap and drill for years now and made a jaw-dropping appearance in the second series of BBC Three's The Rap Game UK where his harrowing, soul-baring lyrics made him an instant fan favourite.

His buzz really got going back in 2016 when he introduced himself to the world with a handful of downright brutal freestyles. This one, recorded for Scottish Twelve50TV, introduced the world to a deft lyricist with an instinct for vivid storytelling and the kind of breathtaking honesty that's since become his calling card. Little wonder Nas invited him to support him at his show at Glasgow's O2 Academy in 2017.
