HERITAGE: The Iconic Freestyle That Made Everyone Pay Attention To Chip And Ice Kid (2007)

October 09, 2019

Long before "Shut Up" and "Wicked Skengman", Chip and Ice Kid gave us one of the earliest freestyles do to big numbers online when the pair were brought onto Westwood's show by Wiley.

It's no secret that Chip and Ice Kid were prodigious talents when they emerged in the 2000s, but it's always good to get a reminder of just how incredible their lyricism was right from the start.

At this point, Chip had already put out a few mixtapes and had a decent following in North London, while Ice Kid had been working with Dot Rotten and Hoodstarz for a minute; so while it was by no means either MC's debut, this iconic freestyle definitely gave them both a huge boost.
