It's easy to think of Stormzy as one of the new generation and as someone who came up on the grime tidal wave of the mid-2010s, but his story stretches much further back. We've already highlighted one of his earliest freestyles, but here he is back in 2012 (a full year before he dropped the first "Wicked Skengman"), taking on Alchemist's "Queens" instrumental alongside some of the brightest talents in the UK rap underground.

Stormzy and A Star (later known as Akelle from WSTRN) provide clear early highlights but it's a solid cypher all round, particularly from Jahlani and Beluga Ice. After his career was briefly put on hold, it's good to see Akelle back on the scene because as you can see he's got talent and potential in abundance.
