HERITAGE: So Solid Crew Grace 'Top Of The Pops' With Their Breakthrough Track "Oh No (Sentimental Things)" (2000)

So Solid Crew's 2001 debut album They Don't Know was far from a sleeper hit, launching the expansive crew and the UKG scene right into the epicentre of the mainstream. Of course, "21 Seconds" is the main hit that gets attached to their name, but the album spawned plenty of other hits, many of which have achieved immortality in the garage scene.

Next to "Envy", "They Don't Know" and the surprisingly political "Broken Silence", "Oh No (Sentimental Things)" remains a stone cold classic in the scene — due in no small part thanks to the phenomenally catchy hook from Lisa Maffia. Surprisingly, given how popular it was at the time (and how well it's aged), "Oh No" never actually charted, but that didn't stop them from being invited onto Top Of The Pops to perform it. That they were invited on is further proof of how much of a certified anthem the track was and always will be.
