HERITAGE: Skrapz Steps Into The Booth And Lays The Groundwork For 'Skrapz Is Back' (2009)

Formerly known as Skrapster back in the days of SLK, Skrapz followed his years in the North West London crew with a switch-up in style and approach. In place of the grime and UKG formats SLK had fun with, Skrapz immersed himself in the world of rap and swapped the short, snappy reload bars for more in-depth rhymes.

Here he is back in 2009, just two years after the end of SLK and right at the beginning of his long—and somewhat rocky—road to where he is today. Funnily enough, as he's said in past interviews, the mixtape he announces at the start didn't even exist yet. He hadn't even started it.

Still, he'd committed himself and he followed through with those plans, creating what would become 2011's Skrapz Is Back, a seminal release in his catalogue and a significant milestone in UK rap's history.
