Sunshine and raving has always been an ideal combination.

But for some reason, when garage exploded in the '90s and someone had the idea to turn Ayia Napa into the scene's second home, it felt different to what was going on in Ibiza. From the late 1990s onwards, everyone from grime, garage, bassline, funky, and rap would descend on the sun-drenched island turn it into paradise.

The history of Napa as a raver's destination is a long one steeped in more than its fair share of mythology. A couple of years ago, Dr. Joy White gave us her account of what it was like on the ground, but when it comes to Napa, seeing is believing.

This documentary, filmed and uploaded to YouTube by DJ Quincy, is probably as close as you'll get to experiencing it without a time machine. Filmed in 2008, it's the perfect time to hit the meeting points between grime, garage, and even road rap (Giggs can be seen on the fateful night we documented recently).

The whole thing is packed with famous faces, from Boy Better Know to Adam Deacon to So Solid Crew to Marcus Nasty to Sun City founder Double O. Anyone who was anyone was at Ayia Napa in the 2000s.

There's a load of highlights, but one of the best bits comes at the 45-minute mark where we see Boy Better Know, Tempa T and MC Kaos take turns throwing down some quick bars in their hotel room before heading out to the rave.
