HERITAGE: Skepta Rallies A Huge Crowd At Pop Up Show In Shoreditch (2015)

June 27, 2018

Though grime never really went away (the embers having been kept alive by the stalwarts), there's no denying the scene got a huge shot in the arm when Skepta dropped "That's Not Me", "It Ain't Safe" and then "Shutdown" in 2015.

It was a hell of a moment in music, particularly if you lived in London at the time. For that reason we've gone back to the moment Skepta threw a spontaneous rave in a Shoreditch car park. Not only did it capitalise on his renewed vigour, but it also marked the beginning of grime's enormous resurgence that would ultimately take grime and its key players all over the world.
