HERITAGE: Scorcher, Big H, President T & More Light Up This Serious Axe FM Set (2005)

North London-based Axe FM was a legendary institution back in the day, a hub for every MC and crew worth their salt. Founded back in 2003 by the late Paul Stewart, the station was also an early pioneer when it came to sharing videos of their sets online (although particular one was archived by DaMetalMessiah).

This one from 2005 is on in a long line of classic sets and an example of the kind of magic the station regularly conjured when it brought together MCs from across the capital. Taking centre stage on this one are Ruff Sqwad's Fuda Guy and Slix, Cold Blooded's Scorcher and Terminator, Meridian's President T and Big H, G Fam's Dimples and a young Black The Ripper (although he doesn't jump on the mic in this clip), as well as a couple more faces cropping up besides.

In the early to mid 2000s, London's airwaves were stacked with sets like this, especially Axe FM. If you were lucky enough to be around at the time, we hope you savoured it because it's an era of UK music that remains undefeated.
