HERITAGE: Risky Roadz Captures Jammer Tearing Up Young Man Standing With "Murkle Man"

November 06, 2017

Since its inception in 2003, the legendary Risky Roadz, founded by Roony Keefe and Sparkie when they worked at iconic London record shop Rhythm Division, has been one of the most important and extensive sources of grime's history. The regular CDs and DVDs through the mid-late '00s weren't just a record of grime's wildest (and most pivotal) moments, they were a lifeline to those who either lived outside of London or were just too young to get in the raves that Risky Roadz documented.

To celebrate the importance of Risky Roadz and the many moments Keefe has captured, Boiler Room has put together a two-hour clip of some of the live sets, recording sessions and interviews from Keefe's extensive archive. Below, we've got a clip of Jammer performing "Murkle Man" in 2005, barely starting it before the first reload. The sky high levels of energy in the room, every single person knowing every single bar, is just one of many, many examples in Risky's vaults of how passionate the movement has always been.
