HERITAGE: Risky Roadz Captured Iconic Freestyles In His Second DVD Series (2005)

Risky Roadz 2, released back in 2005, is one of the greatest grime artefacts in existence.

This section of the DVD, archived for posterity by the Off The Radar YouTube channel, featured a pretty exhaustive roll call of some of grime's greatest ever MCs. Of course, there are one or two notable absences (no Kano, Dizzee or Wiley, for example), but Risky did manage to cram in just about everyone else.

Taking on Ruff Sqwad's iconic "Move 2 Dis" instrumental, we're treated to a quick flurry of bars from Bashy, Skepta, Jme, Esco, Scorcher, Jammer, Ghetts, Riko Dan, Bruza, Big H, Stormin, Crazy Titch, Devilman, Shystie, Discarda, Tempa T, NoLay and many, many more (you can find the full list in the YouTube description).

Apart from being an early recorded example of some now-historic bars, it's also a good excuse to revisit and remember the brilliance of Esco and Stormin, two hugely influential creative giants who are sadly no longer with us.
