HERITAGE: Potter Payper Drops Pure Fire As He Carves Out His Own Lane In UK Rap Storytelling (2013)

October 06, 2020

Since his return to the rap scene earlier this year, Potter Payper has hit the ground running like you wouldn't believe, gifting fans a new EP and a mixtape in quick succession. Perhaps just as exciting for long-standing fans, his freestyle game hasn't dulled one bit, stopping off at Kenny Allstar's for an epic contribution.

For an example of just how impossibly good his freestyles have always been, all you have to do is look back at this 2013 session for SB.TV (although, as we've said before, it's far from the only example). Over an instrumental produced by BL@CKBOX founder Lotes, Potter doesn't just give us a technical masterclass, he opens up about his life in ways most would shy away from, speaking candidly about his home life, his family and the hard decisions he's been forced to make. This isn't idle street talk, this is real life.
