HERITAGE: Merky Ace, M.I.K & More Of Family Tree Show The Power Of Grime In This Elite Session (2013)

In the first half of the 2010s, Family Tree were an absolute problem. Made up of Merky Ace, MIK, Ego, Shifman, and TKO (with a rotating cast of producers that included Faze Miyake, Smurf, YGA, Jack Mason, Bae, and Merky Ace as Splurt Diablo).

Here they are in 2013 with Logan Sama, promoting their final project as a complete unite, Play Your Position. A full-squad outing, they mostly take on instrumentals from Jack Mason and Merky under his Splurt Diablo guise.

As a crew, Family Tree were stacked with MC talent, so their radio sets were essential listens at the time. Best of all, because they had such a tight-knit group of producers in their midst, they never had to look elsewhere for beats so everything you heard was 100% their own.

Within a couple of years of this set, the outfit would splinter and they would each either go quiet or pursue their own solo ventures. Sadly, as much as the world would love to see a reunion of some sort, it's almost guaranteed that will never happen.
