Never one to do anything by halves, when Mahalia was invited into the 1Xtra studio for a Live Lounge session, she did something a little special. Opening with KOD extract "Kevin's Heart" by J.Cole, she flips his tale of drug addiction into a story about infidelity before seamlessly transitioning into Mario Winans' iconic "I Don't Wanna Know" to get the other perspective.

An inspired move from the Leicester native and exactly the kind of creativity that made Love And Compromise, released the following year, such a stunning and memorable collection. Here's hoping the follow-up isn't far off.
