Louchie Lou & Michie One have largely been forgotten these days, but this 1993 single is the unlikely converging point of artists as wildly different as '60s pop icon Lulu, soul kings The Isley Brothers, '80s experimentalists and dance pioneers The Art Of Noise, country singer Duane Eddy, and film composer Henry Mancini.

Lou and Michie's "Shout" was a mash-up of Lulu's 1964 hit of the same name (itself originally recorded by The Isley Brothers) with a version of Henry Mancini's score for the detective show Peter Gunn recorded by Duane Eddy and pioneering production outfit The Art Of Noise in 1986.

The result is pretty out there and probably not what you'd expect to come from ingredients like that. One thing's for sure, you can tell they met at a Rebel MC gig.

And if you want one final surprise, they also recorded the original version of Gwen Stefani's "Rich Girl".
