HERITAGE: Lioness Storms Across S-X's Iconic "Woooo" Instrumental For Her F64 Session (2010)

Grime, particularly in the early days, wasn't exactly a welcoming place for women, as journalist Yomi Adegoke recently noted in her documentary Where Are All The Black Women In Grime?. Of the few who were able to defy the odds and break through, Lioness remains a pioneer to this day whose towering achievements can't be overstated.

Her freestyles never miss, but this F64 from 2010 is particularly stunning. Storming across S-X's iconic "Woooo" instrumental, Lioness hops, skips and jumps between flows with laser-like precision.

Thanks to moments like her legendary Practice Hours 2 session alongside Queenie, the iconic Female Allstars "Grab That Mic" posse cut, and a masterful Westwood session with Lady Leshurr, NoLay and Lady Chann, Lioness had already earned her stripes by this point, but the wider world was yet to catch on and give her the credit she deserves (which, to a certain extent, sadly remains true to this day).
